Baby Jesus Stolen From Coronado Nativity Scene
Girl, 5, Donates Doll To Play Role Of Jesus
CORONADO, Calif. -- A 5-year-old girl donated one of her dolls to Sacred Heart Church after someone stole the Baby Jesus statue from its Nativity scene.
Church officials said someone took the statue Christmas morning.
The Nativity scene sits outside Sacred Heart Church at Sixth and C Avenue in Coronado.
Church officials said the statue disappeared sometime after midnight Mass, when someone removed the glass front on the manger scene.
Any information on the missing Baby Jesus should be shared with the local Coronado Police.

Nado Natterings (Sports Report)
Nado Natterings
by David Axelson, Chief Executive Officer
The Islander Sports Foundation
Make no mistake the CHS Boys Soccer Team is firing on all cylinders in the early going of the 2005-06 season. Last week the team played four games and won them all to expand their won-loss record to a nifty 10-0-1 mark. Said Head Coach Brian Hiatt-Aleu of his squad’s near perfect record, "We have never gone into the Christmas break undefeated. You won’t find many teams that do."

The Islander Sports Foundation
Given the opportunity to summarize his team with a single word at the beginning of the season, Head Coronado High School Boys Soccer Coach Brian Hiatt-Aleu would likely have opted for ‘young’ or perhaps ‘rebuilding.’ Last year the team went undefeated in the Harbor League for the first time in school history, and this year’s squad figured to be a little weaker due to graduating seniors who played key roles in last year’s success.

Romantic Getaways at the Beach or in the Wine Country
The Glorietta Bay Inn (in Coronado) gets a nice review in this article:
"Inside, the wide marble staircase was our pathway to Room 126, the Albright Room, a spacious second-floor with an open, airy feel and views to the yacht harbor, the Coronado Bridge and, in the distance, the mountains east of San Diego. Decorated in a French country motif, the room featured flowers, tasteful paintings and floral bed quilts with matching drapes. Almost the size of a suite, this room was furnished with classic furniture reproductions befitting the era in which the house was built."

When you're trying to buy gifts for the husband, wife or partner who has everything, one of the best solutions is the gift of travel. The new experiences and their memories will last a lifetime, well beyond the useful life of a kitchen appliance or high-tech gizmo.
And besides, you'll never have to sell them at a garage sale to get rid of them.
The really smart shopper will have a gift certificate under the tree this Christmas for a romantic getaway already scheduled for early February. There's no way you're going to get a good room at a fancy resort this Christmas because those are all booked well in advance. But why not make it for sometime around Valentine's Day?
That's right -- two gifts for the price of one.
There are lots of romantic choices here in California, whether you like beaches, islands or wine country.
