Election to fill Coronado City Council seat is June 2

CORONADO — Applications for the seat will be accepted from tomorrow through March 6 at City Hall, 1825 Strand Way. Candidates must gather signatures from 20 to 30 voters. The applications may include a candidate statement with a brief description of their education and qualifications.

Applicants are expected to pay an estimated $260 to have their candidate statements published in the voter pamphlet.

The term ends in November 2010.

The City Council could have appointed an interim council member but decided against it at a meeting in December.
